While the summer over here feels more like autumn, I had to find another way to get some summer vibes ... and what better way to get them than in a tiki environment. Unfortunately that doesn't mean that I've been to Hawaii - nope, I just started building some tiki things for SL.
First there is the Tiki Lounger ... I'm quite content with it the way it looks right now, but I might try out a sculptie version of it before it goes on sale. Anyway, here are some pictures of the prototype:
The prototype lounger has 31 prims, and its going to be Mod, No Copy, Trans.
After finishing the prototype lounger, I went on to tikify the landing quay that I have at my private home (next to a tiki bar). The old quay did clash in style and color with the tiki bar anyway, so a makeover was long overdue;)
First I built a non-sculptie version of the quay, but then I uploaded a few sculptie textures for some rough wood beams and I quickly replaced the non-sculptie version of the quay with an version made up almost entirely of sculpties:
Due to a problem that stems from the nature of the sculpties I could not link the quay into one linkset, unfortunately it needs to be two. This however means that you need to rezz it while in Edit mode or select both linksets after rezzing before moving, otherwise you'll just move one of the linksets (the sculpties or the normal prims) and leave the other behind ...
Since the quay is going to be No Copy, please be careful to select both linksets when you move it!
The full quay comes at 74 prims, if you want to additionally rezz foundation concrete blocks in the water like i did on my island, thats another additional 10 prims.
I'll have to create a sales box for the quay now and I'm currently thinking about offering a Copy version of it as well ... but I haven't decided on a price for either version yet.
And finally there are the tiki idols. I've seen enough tiki idols in SL and most of them are cylinder shaped - so I've decided to go a different route ;) The Dharma Tiki Idols are made from a rectangular sculptie - you can see them in all their mean glory in front of the quay.
You can see the display models of the tiki lounger and the quay at the shore of my private house, on the other side of the bay across from the shop if you want to take a look at it.
Thats not all tho ... I have several a few other ideas for the Dharma Tiki collection, so please watch this space! I'm going to send a group notice when the first parts of the tiki collection are going on sale :)
